Private Equity

Private Equity has a firm grip on the HVAC Industry! Most of the companies in the N.E. Florida region have sold or trying to sell. It's time for the original owners of the company you or your neighbors use for service to sell & retire. This isn't all bad news though. There are pros and cons to this...let's take a look through the lens of someone who has personally experienced this.

Pro's

-As manufactures cut corners, this had led to a failure rate of a system to skyrocket. These P.E companies are offering a labor warranty that cannot be matched by your local HVAC companies. This is done in writing and legally binding. Meaning, they are on the hook for most of the repairs (parts and labor) for the lifetime of the system OR the agreement you made during the consultation.

-They have a standard of employment. There are no certifications or required schooling to work in the HVAC industry, as long as the employer holds a LIC and EPA license, he/she may have a limited number of workers working under that same license. So, background checks, Drug screenings and HVAC background have become a requirement to work for these companies.

-Liability is on them! A lot of these investors have a reputation to maintain. So, the 100% Satisfaction Guarantee is real, or they face litigation possibilities.

Cons

Increased total Investment

High Pressure Sales Tactics

Upsell tactics

Poor financing options

Pressure on the sales representatives (pressure on the consumer)

Mis-guided information

This blog is my opinion and not to be considered legal advice or advice on who to buy your new HVAC system from. There are several pathways to value and what "you" the consumer consider to be a good deal and/or investment.

Here at Breezy Buddy, we are committed to helping you and getting the best bang for your buck. Small HVAC companies have a whole other set of challenges and risk.
